Before the beginning of this past football season I wrote an article that began by saying TCU was not getting any recognition as a BCS buster. While they might not have crashed the BCS party, it was still an exciting season, capping it all off with a 17-16 win against then-No. (0) comments

BYU defeats Lady Horned Frogs 62-46

The Lady Horned Frog basketball team lost its claim to the top spot in the Mountain West on Tuesday with a 62-46 loss to the BYU Cougars. Turnovers and poor field goal shooting caused the loss. The Lady Frogs shot 22.4 percent from the field in the game and 18. (0) comments

Dougherty: near perfect play needed for win against Cougars

Amid a three-game losing streak, the TCU men's basketball team will face the Brigham Young Cougars at 8 p.m. today. Head coach Neil Dougherty said regardless of their record, he still thinks the Cougars are the best team in the Mountain West Conference. "We have to execute to near perfection just to stay in the game, especially since they are at home," Dougherty said. (0) comments

The Lady Frogs will try to stretch its winning streak to four games this Saturday at San Diego State University. Head coach Jeff Mittie said even though the Frogs beat the Aztecs handily in the team's first meeting, he is not taking SDSU for granted. "In a conference where you play both teams twice, a lot of it depends on when you play people. (0) comments

Frogs sign recruits, build up team

For the 2008 national signing day, TCU concentrated on offensive recruits and filled needed positions, head football coach Gary Patterson said. The Horned Frogs signed 15 players on Wednesday, 10 offensive, four defensive and one kicker. Patterson said last year featured a big defensive class, so grabbing offensive players met the team's needs. (0) comments

The tennis team continued an undefeated season, knocking off the University of Texas at Arlington 7-0 and Abilene Christian University 6-0. "I think we played well today," head coach Dave Borelli said. "This is the way we should be playing." Entering the season with a core of untested pitchers and a lineup consisting of new batters at the 2-5 spots, the TCU baseball team appears to be heading toward tough times. This makeup of new players could actually be a good thing for the Horned Frogs. The 2008 team has the opportunity to carve its own identity. (0) comments
