Men's basketball suffers fourth straight conference loss The Horned Frogs fell to Colorado State University 71-65 on Saturday night on the road. It was the team's fourth straight loss in the Mountain West Conference. The team's record now stands at 13-10 overall. (0) comments

The No. 21 women's tennis team pulled away late with a tight 4-3 win over Auburn University on Sunday at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. With the win, the team's spring record now stands at 3-2. It was the team's second consecutive win over a top-25 opponent. (0) comments

There will be a Mardi Gras celebration Monday in the Campus Commons hosted by Programming Council and the International Student Association. The event will feature the band Professor D, the TCU Soul Steppers, stilt walkers as well as cultural drumming, international student's band performances and henna tattoos. (0) comments

BYU defeats Lady Horned Frogs 62-46

The Lady Horned Frog basketball team lost its claim to the top spot in the Mountain West on Tuesday with a 62-46 loss to the BYU Cougars. Turnovers and poor field goal shooting caused the loss. The Lady Frogs shot 22.4 percent from the field in the game and 18. (0) comments

"Teams that want to play in March have to have good Februaries." That was head coach Jeff Mittie's message to his team as they prepared to start the second half of conference play with a home game against Colorado State University on Saturday. For some, the end of fall sport ­­(notice I said "sport") signals the beginning of a lull in their level of passion for college athletics. Sure, there were other sports in action during the fall semester, like volleyball, swimming and diving, soccer, tennis and golf, but we all know football reigns supreme in Texas, and that's no different here at our university. Senior kick-off receives Rudy Award

Senior kick-off specialist Drew Combs was honored with the 2008 College Football Rudy Award at the American Football Coaches Association Convention on Monday at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. Combs was awarded a trophy and a $5,000 scholarship by Rudy Ruettiger, whom the award is named for. (0) comments

After Friday's meet against the University of Utah, head coach Richard Sybesma said the H20 Frogs proved they will be a team to be reckoned with if they can consistently rise up to the occasion. The men's and women's teams faced the Utes on Friday night in the University Recreation Center. (0) comments

The Horned Frogs withstood the UNLV Lady Rebels' valiant effort at a comeback to win Saturday's game in Las Vegas 66-61. TCU (10-5, 2-0 Mountain West Conference) led from the start as the team found open shots on most of their early possessions. UNLV (7-8, 0-2 MWC) allowed TCU to shoot 42. (0) comments

Frogs defeat Lumberjacks with second-most points since 1932

Stephen F. Austin watched as the Horned Frogs ran through purple and white fireworks to open Amon G. Carter Stadium for the year on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Lumberjacks, the fireworks continued when TCU's offense took the field. (0) comments

When I came to TCU in 2004, the C in the middle of the name played a huge part in my decision of where to further my education. And no, that C doesn't stand for construction like I have heard a lot of people joke about lately. In case some of you have forgotten, that C stands for Christian. (0) comments

Women's tennis to begin fall season with tournament

The women's tennis team, restocked with fresh talent and armed with nationally-ranked veterans, will start its fall season with tournaments spread across the country, beginning with the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga. starting Friday Head coach Jefferson Hammond said the fall tournaments are a great chance for the players on the team to improve their rankings in preparation for the spring season. With TCU football, there comes an end in the winter. With TCU basketball, there comes an end in the spring. With TCU baseball, there comes an end in the summer. With TCU tennis ... it never ends. (0) comments

It was an all-around successful weekend for TCU athletics. The football team remained undefeated with a 67-7 victory over Stephen F. Austin. The volleyball team improved its record to 6-0 by winning its second straight tournament, this time in Edinburg. The soccer team hasn't lost yet this year either as it is now 4-0-1 with two shutouts in Arizona. (0) comments
