The No. 21 women's tennis team pulled away late with a tight 4-3 win over Auburn University on Sunday at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. With the win, the team's spring record now stands at 3-2. It was the team's second consecutive win over a top-25 opponent. (0) comments

Men's basketball suffers fourth straight conference loss The Horned Frogs fell to Colorado State University 71-65 on Saturday night on the road. It was the team's fourth straight loss in the Mountain West Conference. The team's record now stands at 13-10 overall. (0) comments

There will be a Mardi Gras celebration Monday in the Campus Commons hosted by Programming Council and the International Student Association. The event will feature the band Professor D, the TCU Soul Steppers, stilt walkers as well as cultural drumming, international student's band performances and henna tattoos. (0) comments

Awards and speeches, not hits and stolen bases, began the 2009 baseball season. The Horned Frogs attended the sixth annual First Pitch Banquet Friday night at Ridglea Country Club in the presence of a four-time World Series champion. The team was proud to welcome Bobby Brown, four-time World Series winner and former American League president, as the keynote speaker for the evening. (0) comments

It didn't count for the team's record, but the women's soccer squad dominated in its first game of the spring, shutting out the Navarro College Bulldogs. The team played three 45-minute periods Sunday, each starting at a score of 0-0. They didn't show any lack of competitiveness, winning all three periods, 5-0, 0-0 and 1-0 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. (0) comments

While some might have found it odd, last week's announcement that the Frogs would be changing to a co-offensive coordinator system should come as a surprise to no one. It really was the team's best option. Former offensive coordinator Mike Schultz left to take the same position at the University of Illinois in early January. (0) comments

Lady Frogs erupt for 29-point victory

The Lady Frogs continued their recent dominance against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas by collecting their seventh straight win against the Lady Rebels Tuesday night in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Lady Frogs controlled the majority of the game and won 75-46. (0) comments

The No. 34-ranked men's tennis team will pack its bags and head to Norman to face the University of Oklahoma on Saturday. Dave Borelli, the team's head coach, said the Sooners retooled this year and are probably better than they were last season. "Even though they are only No. (0) comments

The Flyin' Frogs will head to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the last meet before the Mountain West Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month. Head coach Darryl Anderson said athletes headlining the event include junior Jessica Young, senior Kishelle Paul, senior Jessica Clarke and junior Neidra Covington for the women and sophomore Mychal Dungey, sophomore Sean Zurko, junior Dell Guy and sophomore Matthew Love on the men's side. Weekend match a preview of things to come for club tennis The club tennis team will be playing at the Baylor Warm-Up in Waco on Saturday in what will be a preview of sectionals later this spring season. The events include men's and women's singles and doubles with TCU challenging three different colleges in match play. (0) comments

Horned Frogs seek to end losing streak against BYU

The men's basketball team's losing streak reached five with Tuesday's 71-57 loss on the road against the Universtiy of Nevada, Las Vegas. The team will look to stop the bleeding Saturday night at home against Brigham Young University. Three weeks ago, the Horned Frogs, with a share of first place in the Mountain West Conference, fell to the University of New Mexico at home, 69-52. (1) comment

Equestrian team heads to California for tournament

The No.7-ranked equestrian team, in the middle of a three-match winning streak, will head to Fresno, Calif. for the Best in the West Tournament this weekend. They will compete against teams from South Dakota State University, the University of Tennessee at Martin and Fresno State University, the tournament's host. (0) comments

The oft-tormented world of baseball suffered another blow this weekend when Sports Illustrated reported that New York Yankees third basemen Alex Rodriguez tested positive for testosterone and anabolic steroids back in 2003 when he was a shortstop for the Texas Rangers. (1) comment

Lady Frogs top Rams with overall effort

"Teams that want to play in March have to have good Februaries." That was head coach Jeff Mittie's message to his team as they prepared to start the second half of conference play with a home game against Colorado State University on Saturday.
