In 2009 about 565,000 Americans are expected to die of cancer, or more than 1,500 people per day, according to the American Cancer Society. Cancer is the second most common disease causing death in the U.S., topped only by heart disease. In a day and age when there is a lot of obvious contrast between Christianity and Islam, I was rather surprised to come across a recent CNN news story about an ordained Episcopal priest who was defrocked for openly confessing that she is a practicing Muslim and a Christian. (7) comments
