The volleyball team opened conference play with a 3-1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22) win over New Mexico in Albuquerque on Wednesday night. Senior middle blocker Kourtney Edwards became the university's all-time blocks leader early in the game and ended the night with 446 career blocks. (0) comments

For the second time this season, the volleyball team used an out-of-state tournament to regroup from a tough loss. The Horned Frogs, who won nearly two weeks ago at the UConn Toyota Classic after losing to Baylor, took home another championship - this time the Akron Invitational. (0) comments

Match against Colorado gives Women's soccer their second loss of the season

The nationally-ranked women's soccer team moved to 4-3-0 after this weekend's matchups in Colorado. Friday's game against the Colorado College Tigers gave the Lady Frogs their second loss of the 2009 season with a score of 3-0. Their first loss was after the 4-3 double-overtime loss to Texas Tech University. (0) comments

After a victory at the University of Virginia, Head Coach Gary Patterson held his second press luncheon Tuesday. Patterson talked about the young team this year, as well as the successes and mistakes made on the road at Virginia. At Virginia, Patterson said he played between 12 and 15 redshirt and true freshmen. (0) comments

NCAA President Brand dies of cancer at 67

Myles Brand, president of the NCAA, died Wednesday of pancreatic cancer at 67, the Associated Press reported. Brand was scheduled to speak at the university in March 2008 on the state of the NCAA and college sports, but the event was canceled because of inclement weather, outgoing Director of Athletics Danny Morrison said. Volleyball heads to Albuquerque to face Lobos

Coming off of a three game winning-streak, the women's volleyball team will play the Lobos of the University of New Mexico on Wednesday in Albuquerque. Head coach Prentice Lewis said that although the team played well in Ohio and won all three tournament games, it faces the same obstacle in Wednesday's game: not having home court advantage. Frogs plan to tackle learning issues

The football team is gearing up for its home opener, Saturday at 6 p.m., against the Texas State University Bobcats. Coming off a win last weekend against the University of Virginia, head coach Gary Patterson said the team understands what needs to be worked on. (0) comments

SuperFrog is one of twelve finalists for The Capital One All-America Mascot Challenge. He is currently in third place with 58,775 votes, even though the second place competitor, South Dakota State's Jack Rabbit, has 56,583 votes, according to the Capital One BowlWeb site. (0) comments
