The fifth annual "Frogs for the Cure" football game will be held Saturday, Nov. 14. As our beloved Frogs continue their winning streak, it is impossible not to be excited for the game against our biggest remaining competitor, Utah. The Utes, who are No. 14 in the Bowl Championship Series rankings, are hoping for a win that will ruin our perfect season. (0) comments

Student attendance at athletic events is generally less than the athletes strive for, and for the number of hours they put in they deserve more people there. Well, I'm guilty as charged. I've never been to a single basketball, volleyball, baseball or soccer game. (0) comments

Facebook knows a little too much about its users

Facebook has infringed on the Video Privacy Protection Act once again, according to a lawsuit filed by a Texas woman. Mediapost reported that Blockbuster Video is the subject of another lawsuit because it was posting information about a woman's rental history on her Facebook update page without her written consent. Letter to the Editor: Rangers aren't the only ones with spirit

I am writing in response to Thursday's article about the TCU Rangers. First of all, I'd like to point out that I have not missed a single home football game in the three and a half years I've been attending TCU. I fully support the football team and wish them the best for the remainder of the season. (2) comments

With all the blown calls in the Major League Baseball postseason this year, the league should expand its use of replay to improve the quality of the game. Currently, the MLB only uses replay for "boundary calls," which are calls that focus on whether or not a home run had gone over the fence or whether a home run was fair of foul. (0) comments

Regardless of one's stance on the United States' involvement in warfare, there is a widely accepted and universally understood policy of inherent respect for veterans. These men and women have subjected themselves to what many of us will never be able to imagine, all in the name of guaranteeing the safety and welfare of citizens at home. (0) comments

Here's a shocker. Television doesn't improve learning skills for children under 2. If that seems like common sense to you, it apparently didn't for the makers of the Baby Einstein DVD series. Apparently the movies were sold under the guise of "learning" devices since 1997 and have been under fire since the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission about the product making false claims to enhance children's learning, according to the Sun Sentinel. Michael Jackson legacy an everlasting tour

Michael Jackson transformed the pop music genre, sold millions upon millions of records and made headlines, both good and bad, throughout his life. After Jackson's untimely passing, it was made known to the public and his adoring fans that Jackson was in the process of releasing a movie about his musical comeback and his rehearsals for the massive global tour that was going to put him back on the map. Citizens should imitate Lieberman's conscience vote

Sen. Joe Lieberman, Ind-Conn., said on Oct. 27 that he would filibuster Democratic Senator Harry Reid's health care reform bill if it included a government-run insurance plan, or public option. For the politically uninterested, this fact might be irrelevant. (1) comment

Letter to the Editor: Professors notice distracted students

I enjoyed Thursday's editorial cartoon depicting the professor oblivious to the various distractions occupying his students' attention. I shared that view throughout college, assuming that professors were in their own tunnel-vision world and couldn't see anything in front of them. (0) comments

Greek affiliation shouldn't be top concern in yearbook

I checked my e-mail last Friday, Oct. 30, to find that the 2008-2009 Horned Frog yearbook was ready to be picked up by students who ordered one. Having ordered my yearbook after my picture was taken last year, I was excited to finally see what was bound inside the bright, white cover. (1) comment

Obama needs to reclaim spark of his campaign

I believe the words "eloquent" and "Obama" are synonymous. Whether you love President Barack Obama or despise him, I think we can all agree that he is an excellent, engaging orator. During his campaign, Obama's speeches and messages incited passion and hope in many of the most pessimistic Americans. (3) comments
