Frogs may host College GameDay

Frog fans who were not able to make the trek up to Provo, Utah, to see ESPN College GameDay's Lee Corso slip the SuperFrog mascot head on might have a chance to see it in person next week. GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit told ESPN Radio's Galloway & Company that if Ohio State loses to Penn State this weekend, GameDay will most likely be redirecting its bus to Fort Worth for the TCU game against Utah on Nov. Frogs hit the road for tough Aztec matchup

The No. 6 ranked Horned Frogs are looking to keep their hopes at a Bowl Championship Series bowl game alive as they prepare for a tough ball game on the road this week against San Diego State University. "On defense they're tough, resilient, and on offense they don't stop coming at you," said head coach Gary Patterson. (0) comments

Riding a six-match winning streak, the TCU volleyball team is the hottest team in the Mountain West Conference. The Horned Frogs are coming off a 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11) win over Air Force on Oct. 31, which pushed TCU's record to 21-5 overall and 10-2 in league play. (0) comments

The Horned Frogs' dreams of finally succeeding to the second round of the Mountain West Conference championship tournament were crushed Wednesday as the Utah Utes defeated the team 3-1 in the opening round of tournament play in Provo, Utah. Horned Frogs jump in rankings after Rebel beating

The Frogs (8-0, 4-0) stood pat in the BCS rankings after this weekend's 41-0 drubbing of UNLV, but moved up in both the AP and USA Today polls. While staying at No. 6 in the BCS, the Frogs jumped from the No. 8 spot to No.6 in the AP rankings, though still behind No. (1) comment

The student publications pick 'em team is back for more college football action. Each participant will get one point for a correctly selected win out of the chosen games and two points for an upset pick. The standings remained the same this week with News Now's Maddy Foxx leading the pack with 33 points followed by Skiff editor-in-chief David Hall with 30 points. (1) comment

On campus, the buzz about an upcoming TCU football game has reached levels of craziness that would drive any Horned Frog to spit blood out of its eyes. But that hype surrounds the Utah game, which is in two weeks, and the Frogs still have San Diego State to get through before the Utah game. (0) comments

At the end of each soccer season at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium, one night is set aside to honor seniors and the contributions they've made to the program. This year's bittersweet ceremony was held Friday night following a 4-1 loss to San Diego State University and ended, as usual, with flowers and a video tribute to this season's three departing seniors, Lizzy Karoly, Kelly Faerber and Michelle Nguyen. From cross country road-tripping to backyard game-watching parties, students got creative in their efforts to catch the away games of the undefeated Horned Frog football team, a senior student said. Geoff Dice, a marketing major, said he and his roommates traveled to the Clemson game, but took a different approach when the Frogs faced BYU. (1) comment

Women's soccer to begin postseason play

After a 4-1 loss to San Diego State on Friday, the Horned Frogs will begin postseason play Wednesday against the Utah Utes in the opening round of the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championship. The Horned Frogs, ranked No. 6 in the MWC, ended their regular season with a 9-9-0 overall record and a 2-5-0 MWC record. (0) comments
