The men's basketball team almost upset Arizona State last night in Tempe but fell just short in the last minute by the final score of 52-49. Despite how good this might sound, I feel it will be a recurring theme throughout the rest of the season. This is a game the Horned Frogs should have won, plain and simple. (1) comment
The Lady Frogs overcame a poor shooting performance early in the first half with great defense in the second to beat the Fresno State Bulldogs 63-52 in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Wednesday night. The Lady Frogs shot a 21.1 field goal percentage in the first 12 minutes of the game. (0) comments
After defeating a ranked University of Utah team in front of a sellout crowd at Amon Carter Stadium, the Frog football team heads back out on the road for their final away game of the 2009 season. The Frogs face off against a 5-5 University of Wyoming team Saturday in Laramie. (0) comments
Dear TCU Community: On behalf of our football program, I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support in providing a record crowd of over 50,000 Saturday night at Amon Carter Stadium. The energy and excitement on campus and throughout Fort Worth all week was outstanding, and our players fed off it. (0) comments
Despite a 55-28 beating of formally No. 16 ranked Utah, the Frogs remain in the No. 4 spot in the BCS and Associated Press standings. Without any upsets in the top of the ranks this week, the top eight in the BCS standings remained the same from last week's rankings. (1) comment
Women's Basketball The Lady Frogs won their 10th season opener in 11 years under head coach Jeff Mittie as they blew away the Houston Baptist Huskies 109-30 at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Sunday. The game featured the second largest margin of victory in school history behind an 80 point win in 2001, as TCU scored more than 100 points in a game for the first time since the 2006-07 season. In reflection on this weekend, which I know was the greatest football experience, if not the greatest experience of any kind during my four years here at TCU, many of the other great football games I've taken in came back to me one by one. So, to honor this weekend, the growth of TCU football and my four years here at TCU, I ranked my top five games in the past four years: 1. (0) comments
Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said the No. 4 Horned Frogs were the best team he had ever faced after the 55-28 beat down he and his Utah Utes suffered Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd in Amon G. Carter Stadium. This is the same Whittingham who went undefeated in 2008 before rolling the Crimson Tide of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. (0) comments
As the clock ran out on Saturday's game against the Utah Utes, thousands of students flooded the field in Amon Carter Stadium with surprising ease. Junior writing major Sara Neal said that was the most school spirit displayed in her time at the university. (0) comments
The Lady Frogs basketball team will travel to Norman, Okla. Saturday take on the No. 20 Oklahoma Sooners at 2:07 p.m. TCU beat Fresno State at home Wednesday night 63-52 behind three players who scored in double figures, led by junior forward Helena Sverrisdottir's 15-point effort. (1) comment
Stop me if this sounds familiar. Coming off a huge win, the Frogs go into the mountains. They're playing a team with the reputation of a hard-nosed defense in a loud stadium with only a few diehard Frog fans making the trip. It's freezing and snowing. TCU doesn't play Air Force this week, but they will see a similar foe in Wyoming. (0) comments
