Head coach Gary Patterson held a press conference Wednesday to discuss the new athletes and the growth of the program. Equestrian At it first Fort Worth Stock Show appearance in program history, TCU defeated Texas A&M 5-3. Junior Ashley Aikman was key to the win by defeating A&M rider Randi Standley in Horsemanship. Heading into the meet, A&M was the defending national champion and TCU was ranked No. (0) comments

Despite below-freezing temperatures Saturday night, the Horned Frog club lacrosse team defeated Centenary College of Louisiana in their spring season opener 15-2. Despite a slow start in the first quarter, the Frogs quickly hit their tempo, putting up a score of 8-1 by halftime. (0) comments

Though Charles Dickens isn't required reading in many college classes, the men's basketball team could certainly identify with the best of times and the worst of times in their game versus No. 23 New Mexico. A strong first half punctuated by a last second three-pointer from sophomore guard Ronnie Moss to bring the Horned Frogs (10-12, 2-5 MWC) within two quickly faded into memory as the team lost 75-57 Saturday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum thanks to a subpar second-half performance. Ivy. It surrounded former Frog pitcher Andrew Cashner earlier in the winter, as he ran through baseball workouts like he had done so many times before. Actually, it was most likely dead in the cold of a Chicago winter, but Wrigley Field always brings up thoughts of luscious vines of ivy growing all over the outfield fence in the middle of summertime baseball season. Jimmer Fredette scored 26 points and Jackson Emery had 12 points and six assists as No. 12 BYU beat TCU 76-56 on Tuesday night. BYU (22-2, 7-1 Mountain West) scored the game's first 10 points and held a double-digit lead for most of the game while remaining unbeaten against TCU since the Horned Frogs joined the conference. While the football team came one University of Texas point short of the BCS National Title game, Jim Schlossnagle was putting the final players in place to make another title run. The men's golf team will kick off its spring campaign today in Kamuela, Hawaii at the Mauna Lani Invitational. The team will enter the tournament with a No. 4 national ranking but will face six other top-10 programs, including No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 2 Stanford. (1) comment

With the spring semester underway, intramurals kick into gear in February with a full calendar of team and individual events. The TCU Lady Frogs gained their nineteenth straight home win after defeating the struggling Air Force Academy Falcons 77-47 on Saturday. Texas Christian's Greg Hill and Ronnie Moss were too much for Air Force on Saturday. Hill came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points and Moss added 18 points as Texas Christian ended a four-game losing streak with a 65-51 victory over Air Force.
